North West 200 going past Glenmanus

So took a sudden interest in the NW as of last week. Wasn’t at it, but tried to find a few pictures with Glenmanus in them, harder than it might seem! But here’s a few:

Western Presbytery Football Tournament

The other big sporting event of the day was the Western Presbytery Football Tournament, held at Finn Valley Athletic Club, Stranorlar. Billed as the warm up to the main Ballyclabber Tournament in the summer, Faughan had to overcome the initial disappointment that some other teams hadn’t put the same effort into assembling church teams (or turning up!), as we were split into 3 mixed teams. However it still provided some good match practice as Fallows, Fallows, Fallows and Fallows gave self-appointed team boss Steelo a selection headache ahead of Faughan’s debut in the competition.

With J Fallows successfully overcoming a broken collarbone (and if it happens again he’ll just play on again anyway), our keeper rolling back the years and Morrison playing like a man possessed, it now looks that those hoping to qualify for the team through the grandparents rule will now have to look for another team, or else persuade some in their own congregation that nothing life-threating will actually happen if they drive somewhere further than half an hour away.

Roll on July!

  1. :( Don’t underestimate the oppertunity of Senior Camp football to have an influence on squad selection! Actually its more likely that I’ll be playing as a free agent at Camp desperate to impress any prospective scout looking for a Goalkeeper.
