David McCullough ‘Sing for Joy’ Intros

I have these on my computer, so I thought I might as well put them on here. If you haven’t time to listen to them and only look at the titles, you may get the wrong idea, so here’s what David said at the beginning – reminding us that our joy is not primarily in any of the things below, but in the risen Lord:

“You’ll have discerned by now that there is something that is taken for read in all of the titles of the pieces of the Psalms before us this evening, or should I say, someone, in every single one of these Psalms, and that is our Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ. As we come to the second part of the programme it will be constantly in your mind throughout this that our joy is not just in family, but our joy is in the Lord Jesus Christ, the Head of the Christian home. That our joy is not just in the harvest, but in the Lord Jesus Christ, who gives that great gospel harvest. Our joy will not just be in mission, but our joy will be in the risen Christ, the message of mission. Our joy will not be in revival, it will be in King Jesus, the very heart of revival. Our joy will not just be in victory, our joy will be in the LORD Triumphant, who gives us the victory. And our joy will not even simply be in the thought of Heaven, our joy will be in the Lamb who is on His throne at the centre of Heaven. These special songs that we sing this evening have been given to us by the Spirit of the Lord Jesus Christ, and every single one of them speaks of King Jesus.”

Psalm 127: 1-4 – Joy in Family Life
Psalm 65A: 4-7 – Joy in Harvest
Psalm 126: 1-4 – Joy in Mission
Psalm 85A: 1-5 – Joy in Revival
Psalm 118: 11-18 – Joy in Victory
Psalm 73A: 12-15 – Joy in Heaven

Note: The actual psalms aren’t on. I may put them on at a later stage, but I don’t want to put CAVE out of business! The American ones sound a lot better anyway.
