- ‘Still no Loughridges, still no loss’ produce a late rally to triumph in Friday night quiz, after Steelo, United-in-May stye, begins to take an interest when we hit second place. However it was nice to see the two who turned up on Sat night…
- Offy retires: Hands-down SWS best committee member ever award. In true, retire-the-shirt fashion, he is not being replaced.
- Brian also retires. We love him too. Tho he’s been replaced by somebody who will likewise just stand around, make funny jokes, and appear to the general populace not to be doing anything…

There has been great excitement among the students at RTC in recent days as work on the new Covenanter Book Centre has finally started. Indeed, according to one source, one young future Reverend was ‘beside himself with excitement’ watching the old house getting demolished. Pictures direct from the homeland follow. Perhaps the students will provide further info on an event so exciting that it has apparently been distracting them from their Hebrew translation!

Soon it was time for the wedding party to leave Knockbracken and head to the reception venue – the Dunsilly Hotel (formerly known as the Comfort Hotel) in Antrim.

…After the pick of the best men and usshers had combined to leave Joel’s car in a secret location. At the hotel, much photography ensued.

Then, at last, it was nearly time for the meal.

But, first, the most highly anticipated moment of the day so far – the speeches!

At this far-distant stage, it’s hard to remember the exact running order. Harry MC-ed. Then I think Ronnie kicked off, followed by the best best man speech in the world ever, then Alan, Joel and Andrew Kerr.

And then we could sit down, appreciate the surroundings and enjoy the meal.

And before we rounded things off – Joel and Abigail started as the mean to go on, with family worship.

And then time for the party! Steve and Mark providing the music as always.

Quality game to start off with. Was hoping that my forfeit would be having to invite J&A round, but as it turns out I’m now buying Abigail flowers in June…

And that was that! What a day! Hard to imagine a more Christ-centred wedding. We’ll let part of David and Kate’s telegram to Joel and Abigail be the closing words:
