Part 1
We pick up the report on Wednesday, when people could choose between hiking, go karting, dancing, or swimming (which was eventually scrapped). I chose the first option:

Ali G – taking photos so the rest of us don’t have to

“Just take a wee step back”

On the way home Matt took us to the Electric Bray which is just class.

Wannabe Pilgrims
We came back to learn that some of the boys of the Eastern Presbytery, plus a certain ex-camp leader and Stevie McC (B) had been putting the camp into camp. However Pete assures me that the EPYC will be clamping down on it.

Scared yet?
After tea we gave Rachel a good old 22nd birthday soaking:

In the evening there was a quiz, which featured a legendary round based on questions out of the Book of Interesting Facts.
On Thursday afternoon it was Competitive Sports (‘Tournaments’) with football/bucketball and tennis/volleyball, making use of a new neon volleyball set. After tea we had a Q and A session with Andrew instead of discussion groups.

Willy T – a 150 mile round trip solely to get to Airdrie ;)
Then it was time for the concert:

Oh

As usual, Cromie Robert featured prominently

Nige

Cream Chef

Conor

Gingers. Oh Please.

Caitlin was advertised as “C. Quigley”, which really narrowed it down

Scottish people and associates

Mel

Apparently James and co were singing about the Loch Ness monster
The ‘Getting to Know You’ videos were some of the funniest things ever seen. Look out for them and more from the concert in a forthcoming ‘Camp Media’ post.

P10 tried to convince us he was just a man

The Committee Song – a storming return to form
The Ulsterbus Song was definitely a highlight:

On Friday afternoon Offy brought in a load of inflatable stuff and called it ‘Officer’s Mess’. There was also football going on, and I managed to win my first set against James this summer…

Mary and Jenny

Mary-Lynn falling off the rodeo bull

Tom shows how it’s done

Cream Chef and Brad in the sumo suits

Sharon

Andy Aiken and SAQ on the bungee run

Lizzy turned up to beat Daphers
Then, after tea and a two hour discussion group featuring the speaker himself (for the boys in the Mall anyway), it was time for the party, which Dean did as he happened to be around.

Strawberry Freeze

Chip and John schooling Tom on how to be a committee member

Crumb, Bun, Nige and Conor were back performing again

Gillian, Emmaline, Pam
At supper, Conor got a birthday cake by the skin of his death, and then we had a final psalm sing, and an epilogue from Andrew, at which he asked us to read Ephesians 2, John 15, and Ephesians 4 on successive days for the next month.

The big One Eight

Nathan gave out the GO edition of the Messengers, and everyone wanted to get their hands on one
Then we sung Happy Birthday to Conor again when they tried to make us go to bed by turning off the lights, sung a few songs and went to the Mall. Then chips, A-team and bed.
Saturday morning marked the end of Andrew and Sandra’s glorious 3-year reign in charge of camp. They will be incredibly hard to follow. To thank them we all, with committee approval, sang THE song for the last time.

Legends
And that was that. Yet another amazing year.

Joel adds another of Frances’ poems to the collection

Talks coming soon. Thanks to everyone for the photos.
